There’s something so special about senior year—it’s a time of growth, excitement, and looking ahead to new adventures. I had the absolute joy of photographing one of my amazing senior reps, and my beautiful niece, Maddie, at Jordan Canal Park in Jordan, NY, and it could not have been a more perfect setting.
From the moment we arrived, the park felt like it was made for her session. The historic Erie Canal winding through the heart of the village, the rustic bridges, and the quiet beauty of the water created a backdrop that was both timeless and picturesque. The stone structures and flowers—it’s the kind of place that photographers dream about!

Senior Rep Maddie, brought so much energy and personality to her shoot. She is not only one of my senior reps but also someone who truly embodies what this role is all about—confidence, positivity, and celebrating this once-in-a-lifetime milestone. Throughout her session, she laughed, twirled, and embraced every spot we explored in the park, making the images feel effortless and natural.
One of my favorite moments was when she slipped into a flowy dress that moved beautifully with the breeze. As she twirled by the water’s edge and walked along the canal pathway, the dress caught the light in such a magical way—it looked straight out of a storybook.

To capture a different side of her personality, she changed into something more casual—her favorite jeans and a simple top. This look was perfect for some relaxed shots, showing her laid-back and down-to-earth side. Against the rustic textures of the bridge and canal stonework, the outfit gave the photos a timeless, classic vibe.
And then came the grand finale—the part that really showed off her passion. She changed into her softball gear, and we had a little fun with special effects. First we took the standard softball photo but then next added special effects. We added fog and a bold burst of green smoke around her, which created such a powerful, dramatic atmosphere. It was the perfect way to highlight her love for the sport while also giving her photos a unique, creative edge. She absolutely owned those shots, and I know they’ll be some of her favorites to look back on.

What I loved most about this session was how it captured who she is at this moment in her life—elegant, casual, and strong. Senior portraits aren’t just about pretty pictures—they’re about freezing time during a year that flies by so quickly Maddie is stepping into her future with so much excitement, and it was an honor to help her celebrate that in such a unique and beautiful location.
Being a senior rep means more than just having your photos taken. It’s about sharing your story, inspiring others, and showing just how fun and meaningful a senior session can be. Maddie is already doing such an incredible job of that, and I couldn’t be more proud to have her as part of my rep team this year.
Congratulations, Maddie, on your senior year! I can’t wait to see where this journey takes you and all the amazing things you’ll accomplish. And to anyone considering a senior session—Jordan Canal Park is proof that sometimes the most beautiful locations are right in our own backyard.
