Capturing Memories: A Senior Session with Rep Rose at Fillmore Glen State Park

There’s something so peaceful about Fillmore Glen State Park — the sound of waterfalls, the winding trails, and that soft golden light peeking through the trees. It’s the kind of place that feels like it was made for portraits, and it made the perfect backdrop for my senior rep, Rose.

Rose brought such a natural energy to the session. We explored the park together, stopping at the stone bridges and waterfalls— spots that feel both timeless and magical in every season.

Choosing the Right Outfit for Your Senior Session

One thing I loved about Rose’s session was how her outfits truly reflected her style and personality. She started with a flowy, light dress that moved beautifully with the breeze — soft, elegant, and perfect for those dreamy, nature-filled shots.

Next, she changed into a more casual layered look with jeans and a white long-sleeved shirt, which added a cozy, relaxed vibe while we explored rocks in nature, stairs and she rocked it in both places!

Next, she created an effortless, different look with just taking off the top long sleeved shirt, and just wore the strapless top and jeans and we took photos in front of the waterfall.

That balance — a little dressy, a little casual — is exactly what I recommend for senior photos. It gives you variety and helps capture the many sides of who you are.

The most important thing? Wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident. When you feel good in what you’re wearing, it shows in your photos. Your smile is more natural, your posture is relaxed, and your personality shines through.

A nearby second location, just down a ways from the falls, she put back on her favorite dress and we took some more pictures of what she felt the MOST comfortable in.

Why I Love Sessions in Nature

There’s something about photographing seniors in natural spaces that feels honest and grounding. You can be yourself, breathe, move, and just enjoy the moment. The textures of stone, water, and greenery add depth and warmth to every image — and they never go out of style.

Senior Rep Rose’s session was a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do — capturing seniors in places that bring out their spirit and story.
